We asked you where you like to play and you told us: Wild Water Kingdom, Kortright Centre for Conservation, Sandbanks Provincial Park, Wasaga Beach, Saunders Farm - there were many more. We've made a map with all the suggestions we received and information about each one. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
How important is playing in the summer anyway? What does it do for kids? Should you let them run around, swim, skip, explore? Or should you sit them down to read and practise their math skills so they're ready for school in September? We posed this question to three people: Linda Cameron, Associate Professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Ron Fairchild from Johns Hopkins University and Phil Fernandez, Aboriginal Summer Literacy Camps, Frontier College. They debated the whole idea of summer learning loss and what kids need during the school break.
