Wow, we've been busy here at Your Voice, so time to catch you up on what's been going on.

In my last post I told you we were going to Timmins in northern Ontario. We did, and it was great.  We taped two programs there - "Portrait of the North - Timmins Schools" and  "Aboriginal Education in Timmins."  Watch soon for blogs about each of those programs.

I was also busy reading submissions for the Premier's Awards for Teaching Excellence. I was asked to chair the selection committee, which gave me the opportunity to be inspired by some amazing teachers, principals, and other board staff.  In May I'm hosting the awards evening, and hopefully will get to meet some of these great people who work with and for our kids.

This week we taped a program on Model Schools for Inner Cities, and I'm interviewing potential guests for an upcoming show on Safe Schools, with a focus on  progressive discipline, the new policy that's replaced zero tolerance in all Ontario schools. I've also just read some fascinating research for our next program on Childhood Obesity, and how it affects learning and your child's life at school.

So, there you have it in a nutshell.  Stay tuned for more.
