Lily is very upset when her 99 fish disappear in the lake! Alfred is called and discovers they weren't really fish. They looked like fish but were tadpoles and became frogs and all 99 of them are around!

Mr. Rusard is upset because someone has sabotaged the flutes for the upcoming school concert. Something has chewed holes in the flutes! Investigating with Camille and Milo, Alfred discovers that a porcupine ate the flutes which were carved out of deer antlers. Porcupines like the calcium in the antlers. Luckily, Winston is shedding his antlers so Helmut can make some more flutes in time for the concert.

Cynthia is terribly upset and outraged when her sculpture of sparkling objects has been stolen. All that's left is a bare tree. Alfred and his team investigate; ruling out the local raccoon that likes shiny objects and discover that baby magpie took the objects. They were being taught by the mother magpie on how to find and hide food.

Alfred, Lily, Milo and Camille find an old trunk in the attic. Lily finds some pearls inside and wants to make a necklace for her mother. But the next day, the pearls are missing. Did someone break into Alfred's room and steal them? Alfred investigates and they discover that the pearls were actually Gecko eggs. Lizards. There's no theft!

When Milo accidentally finds a bow and arrow and other items in the mud, Alfred and the others think there's a mysterious visitor in Gnarly Woods. But when they search for him, no one has seen or heard anything. It's as if he's a ghost. Alfred discovers that the bow and arrow are very old and belong to a hunter long ago. They were preserved in the bog and that's why they looked like new.

Alfred and Camille are playing a game of basketball outside the Hedgequarters, when Alfred's Dad races in. Something has happened to his bees. Investigating further, Alfred discovers that the Queen Bee is missing and if she isn't found, his father won't be able to make honey this season. It turns out that the Queen got stuck on Victor's coat when he came for a visit. The Queen is returned and the swarm is healthy again.

Alfred, Milo and Camille's are upset when their parade float has been ruined by someone burning the flowers. It turns out that Rudy was servicing the solar collectors on the school roof and when he did so, the reflection from the sun created a beam of heat, burning a portion of the float.

Alfred, Camille and Milo are having a picnic to celebrate Milo's birthday. However, a tree suddenly falls and crushes the cake. Alfred discovers trees are dying in Gnarly woods and the investigation leads them to uncover the Bark Beetle. A pest that kills pine trees. Once dead, the trees fall. Luckily, the forest can be replanted and saved.

The day of the class photo is ruined when Camille and Cynthia show up with Blue Hair! How this happened, they don't know. All they did was take a shower that morning! Alfred and Milo follow the water pipes that service their houses to a cistern and discover that Woad leaves from Doctor Anna's medicinal garden were blown into the cistern. Woad is a plant that is used to make blue dye!

During a go kart race in the forest something causes Alfred, Camille and Cynthia to loose control and ruin the race. Alfred was hit by an egg, Camille avoided hitting little chicks and Cynthia was distracted when someone said "cuckoo". Alfred investigates and discovers a common cuckoo bird was making a new nest by kicking out the inhabitants of a nest it wanted!

When Cynthia's magic jumping beans for the class magic show go missing, she's convinced someone is out to sabotage her. Alfred isn't convinced and following the clues he discovers that Cynthia's beans weren't magic at all. They were Mexican Jumping Beans. In other words, they were eggs with moth larva inside. Cynthia's beans merely hatched.

Milo is really worried. He's trying out for the school soccerteam but he's itching like crazy. While he waits in line for the medical check-up, Alfred and Camille race to solve this mystery and discover that the fruit with which he made jam, has little hairs that are the basis of itching powder.

Cynthia and Milo are both upset when their annual sled race is ruined by the appearance of strange snow rolls on the hillside. Who made them andput them there? Alfred discovers it's mother nature. Strong wind, caused the top snow layer to curl up and roll, creating snow rolls!

Alfred, Camille and Milo at Alfred's house when suddenly something lands on the house, plunging them into darkness. Rushing outside they discover it's the Principal whose hot air balloon crash-landed. Alfred investigates and discovers a flock of herons crashed into his balloon in the thick fog. Their long beaks pierced the balloon and let out all the air.

When a TV CELEBRITY comes to town, he's suddenly drenched in water and threatens to write a bad review of Gnarly Woods. Alfred discovers he was drenched by a cold-water geyser that's just started erupting.

Milo doesn't know what to write about for the school newspaper. Nothing seems interesting enough - until it starts raining fish! Out of nowhere fish drop from the sky. Alfred, Milo and Camille investigate and discover that a water spout occurred. It's like a tornado but it's over water and often sucks things out of the water, dumping them elsewhere!

Alfred's mom is distraught when her blue flowers for the contest turn purple. She really wanted to win first prize this year. Alfred investigates and discovers his dad put down some limestone that changed the chemical makeup of the soil, turning the blue flowers purple.

After seeing a spooky old house on a hill, Camille is convinced it's connected to a weird glow on the hillside. People in the town are spooked, thinking they're surrounded by something strange. Alfred investigates and discovers it's a type of mushroom that glows in the dark.

Mr. Remy thinks he's discovered a new type of tree. It grows Fur! He's blocked the path to the lake until an expert arrives. He's hoping to become famous. Alfred and the others soon discover that it's a moose who is rubbing his fur which ismolting due to the advent of summer.

Lugubrious' turtle pond is dry. All the water is gone and it happened practically over night! Alfred discovers that the water source has been diverted by Cynthia to fill up bottles of spring water that she's selling.

Oakly the beaver is really upset. Someone destroyed his dam. Alfred's on the case and discovers that the salmon are spawning and as they swim upstream they're crashing into Oakly dam, destroying his house.

The Mysterious Gold Rush: J.J. is giving all his possessions away and is planning to travel the world. He's acting very strange and no one seems to know why. Alfred, Milo and Camille investigate and discover J.J. thinks he's found gold. When word spreads, everyone in Gnarly Woods gets gold fever. Alfred and his team however discover that J.J. found pyrite, otherwise known as "Fools Gold". Turns out, that while rock climbing, they stumbled across the processional caterpillar whose hairs, if touched, make you itch. The Mystery of the Heavy Feet: Rudy finds himself stuck on a rock, unable to move his feet. When Grizz tries to help him, he too gets stuck. It turns out they're standing on magnetite, a magnetic rock and their metal tipped boots are stuck on the rocks.

Alfred does research and realizes everyone saw a lightning ball, a very rare phenomenon. They're relieved when they find the Principal out for a hike, but he's lost too! His compass isn't working either. Alfred and his team discover a meteor crashed not too far off and its iron content is affecting the compasses. Following the stars, they find their way home. The day a school inspector is to arrive, the classroom has a foul odor. Mr. Rusard can't teach and the kids won't go near the classroom. Cats are also attracted to the smell. TThe town lake is going to be used for a sporting event but when they go to the lake they see it's covered with foam. They clean it up, but it comes back the next day! Alfred investigates and discovers that Lychee fruit has fallen into the lake. When out on a camping trip, the class gets really scared when they find headless beetles covering a tent. Alfred investigates and discovers the beetles are actually seventeen-year cicada - insects that live their lives hidden underground as nymphs (which look like beetles) before crawling to the surface and cracking out of their shells.
