Doggy Day School is the home away from home to a lovable crew of dogs and their caretaker. The dogs spend their time playing together, learning about each other and the world around them, and getting in and out of merry mischief!

    Lois the cat is being particularly annoying and the dogs decide to get back at her by stealing her toy ball. But they soon realize they aren't being fair and toss it back to her. It lands in a tree and they soon have to rescue her. She isn't a bit grateful but the dogs know they did the right thing.

The Dogs make a Carnival l at the school, complete with a float and little parade. Lili gets to experience Carnival and Pedro realizes it will be fun and stops worrying about going.

    An Inspector is coming to from City Hall inspect the Day School. If he finds it's not clean and in good repair and safe for the dogs, he will close it down. All day Rosie and the dogs work hard to make sure the school is in ship shape. Although Lucas tries to help, he keeps making things worse. But in the end when disaster strikes, he's the one who saves the day.

    It's very hot out and poor Koda is having a difficult time trying to cool down. It turns out Huskies don't shed and their coats are heavy even in summer. The others try to help him shed his fur but in the end, a spray of cool water from the hose does the job.

After he tells the other dogs about his exciting experience, they ALL want to be pirates!! Its fun until Vlad insists they stay in character - all day.

    Koda brings in his new whirly disk (Frisbee) and shows everyone how to throw it and soon everyone is having fun playing with it. Pedro loves the new whirly-disk and tricks Koda into trading it for a few dog biscuits. Koda feels bad and Pedro has to admit it was an unfair trade and trades it back.

    Lucas, the over active puppy accidentally pulls Lili's tail, and then jumps on her by mistake. After the third mishap, Lili refuses to accept his apology. Poor Lucas feels terrible but nothing will change Lili's mind. It's only when she almost knocks over Fish's bowl that she realizes how bad it feels if someone won't accept an apology.

    A cute little pig is dropped off at the day care. Lucas plays some practical jokes on the others and the pig finds the jokes so funny he eggs Lucas on to play more. It's only when the tables are turned that Lucas and the little pig learn that it's no fun to be on the receiving end of a practical joke.

    A movie star poodle named Bella is dropped off for the day. She's very nice and everyone likes her a lot. She looks a lot like Lili and at first Lili is thrilled. But she quickly becomes jealous of all the attention the others pay to Bella. But she soon discovers that Bella is jealous of her! Bella admits she wishes she could go to Doggy Day School every day and have all the fun and friends that Lili has.

    Rosie brings a battery operated toy dog into the day school for everyone to play with. Koda becomes quite disheartened to discover that the toy dog can run faster, jump higher and bark louder than he can. Everyone is so impressed. But when the toy dog's batteries run out and he starts acting odd, everyone realises that a robot dog can't compare to a real one.

    Suki overhears Lili say she won't go out with that brown old thing, and she thinks she's talking about her. Finally she learns that Lili was talking about her new raincoat for dogs that her owner bought for her, which she thinks is atrocious! Lili can't believe Suki thought she was talking about HER! Suki feels better and they all head out happily to the park. It rains of course and Lili wishes she had her coat.

He enjoys the attention so much he doesn't tell the others when his foot starts feeling better and lets them continue to wait on him hand and foot. Finally they figure out that he's just pretending his paw still hurt. He repays their kindness by waiting on them.

    Pedro doesn't pay much attention to his being itchy until he overhears Rosie saying she's heard there have been a lot of fleas in the neighbourhood lately. Thinking that he will have to have a flea bath, Pedro tries to control his scratching in front of the others. Before long, Lili seems to have fleas as well. She's embarrassed and soon enough she and Pedro are working together to keep everyone from finding out they have fleas. When they're caught scratching, Lili and Pedro pretend they're playing a crazy dancy-itch game to avert suspicion. Their concealment antics and excuses soon get more and more complicated, giving them both more stress than any cure would ever give them. In the end, Lili realizes it's not embarrassing to have fleas and Pedro realizes that having a flea bath isn't such a bad thing after all.

    Lucas hurts his foot while playing but refuses to tell Rosie because he doesn't want to go to the vet. The others, especially Pedro, tell him that there is nothing to worry about - going to the vet is no problem. They play make believe game and pretend they're going to the vet so he'll see it's okay. Koda is the vet and Lucas is the patient. They use the tree house as the vet's office and play act going to the vet. Lucas is finally convinced! Just as they are about to go Pedro trips and now he has to go to the vet too. Only it turns out he was kidding about not being scared. Now Lucas calms him down and they all go off to the vet.

    After watching a Dalmatian fire dog ride by on a fire truck, an excited Lucas decides he wants a job too. He figures there must be other jobs he can do. Dogs do lots of jobs! He proceeds to try out different jobs, but none of them work out. He decides to be guide dog, a guard dog, a herding dog and a sniffer dog, all with less then wonderful results. In fact, the others start to get pretty cranky as he tries out his jobs. Finally Suki and Koda hit on the perfect job for Lucas, Games master as he loves to play and also thinks up great games.

    Bubu, a little puppy sneaks into to the daycare when his owner is next door at the pet shop. At first, all the dogs are thrilled with him. He's so cute and active and interested in everything. But soon Bubu, who can't speak yet, causes trouble. He doesn't wait his turn, or put toys back, or leave Pedro's biscuits alone. The others realise that Bubu doesn't know the rules at daycare yet and they decide to teach him. He's a quick learner and when Rosie and his owner finally track him down, Bubu shows them how much he's learned. Rosie says that he is certainly getting ready for daycare and that he can drop in again any time.

    Vlad, the stunt dog returns to the daycare and is greeted by the others with delight. They all show him the tricks they've been practising - except for Koda. When it's music time, Vlad says he has a sore throat and singing hurts him. Vlad finally admits that he is really fine - he just didn't want to sing because he isn't very good at singing - and they all sing so well. Koda admits that he didn't want to show Vlad a trick because he isn't' very good at it. They both learn you don't' have to be the best at everything you do. It's okay just to enjoy doing something, even if you're not great at it

    The dogs find a prize at the bottom of a new box of dog biscuits. They decide to hold a sports competition, and whoever wins the most events will win the medal. The dogs each win one event - except Lili who's too small to do well in most of the events. She gets into a big snit and the others, feeling sorry for her, come up with some ridiculous, but Lili friendly events, like the 'most sophisticated walk', 'the best body shake' event, etc. Lili wins these events and since she has won the most events, wins the medal. But she says they should ALL have it for being so fair and making special events for her. They each proudly take turns wearing the medal.

    The dogs are playing in the back yard when Lucas sees a small turtle wander under the fence. The gang is riveted - what is it? Koda says he has seen one before - it's a turtle. And it looks like a baby one. Lois approaches and the gang immediately takes it in to protect it. They decide to keep it as a pet. Soon they have to adapt all their routines/games/snacks to fit Zippy's turtly needs. Zippy is with them and at snack and quiet time. And they even pretend they don't want to go for walkies so they can stay to look after Zippy. But during music time, they sing a song about wild animals needing to be free (or a hear Rosie read a story) and they realize they have to let Zippy go. Just as they are about to, Rosie discovers it. She tells them the turtle belongs in the wild and they all go for walkies after all and take back to the ravine and let it go into the wild where they know it belongs.

    The dogs come back from their walk to find that the fish bowl is empty! They immediately assume Lois the cat is the culprit. Suki convinces them to talk to Lois and ask her if she knows anything about the missing Fish. But they refuse to listen. They head out to the back yard with plans to catch Lois and get Fish back. But they can't find her. When they return, they find that Fish is back in his bowl - a new, bigger bowl! Rosie tells them that she got a bigger fish bowl for Fish and had taken him out to transfer him to his new bowl. They realize Suki was right - they shouldn't have blamed Lois - and all of them are sorry for the way they behaved. They head back out and apologize to Lois who has no idea why they are being so nice to her!

    Rosie is doing spring cleaning when a bunch of balloons arrive with a Happy Birthday greeting and the dogs realise it's her birthday! They rack their brains thinking of the perfect gift for her but everything they think of backfires. Finally, Suki suggests they make music for her as they are sure she loves music. They get the idea to recycle all the stuff Rosie she has gathered in her 'junk' pile during her spring cleaning for use as instruments. With Lili has conductor, they succeed in putting together a lovely musical piece. Rosie loves it, not only for the great music, but because all the instruments are recycled. She says it's the perfect gift.

    Lucas is having a very bad day. To cheer him up Koda pretends a lamp he digs up is magic and that it will grant Lucas wishes. Lucas wishes for easy things like a new treat at snack time - and the others help make his wishes come true. Soon he really believes the lamp is magic and all he has to do is wish for something for it to happen. The others decide they have to tell him the truth. They explain that they just pretended the lamp was magic in order to make his day better. Lucas says it doesn't matter because he doesn't need a magic lamp anyway. It wasn't magic that made his bad day turn good - it was his great friends!

    When a new little fish is brought to the daycare, it prompts Suki to remember Lucas's first day. She tells the others the story- in a flash back sequence - of Lucas first day,. We learn that Lucas didn't want to come to daycare at first. In fact, he did everything he could to avoid it. Finally, he agreed to stay if he could bring his owner's slipper with him. He stayed in the slipper at first, but little by little got used to the daycare as it was great fun and everyone was kind to him. And when Pedro was sad because his favourite Liver Nummie was almost lost, it was Lucas who cheered him up and convinced him how great daycare was. Everyone enjoys the story, especially Lucas who remembered nothing of his first day, as he was so little.

    Daisy drops in for the day and proudly shows the others the medal she won at a dog show. Lili convinces everyone that it would be fun to have a Dog Show at the daycare and Daisy agrees to be the judge. But as the show approaches, each of the dogs loses confidence. Pedro thinks his eyebrows are too thick. Koda thinks his fur isn't shiny enough. Suki thinks her shape is too square. Lili, who feels very confidant, encourages everyone, making them all feel special in their own way. Daisy awards Lili a medal, not for how she looks and walks etc, but for the kindness she showed the others as they prepared for the show.

    Lucas gets dirty playing in the mud but doesn't want to take a bath. He says he hates getting wet! There's a small puddle in the back yard (made by the hose when Rosie filled the tub). Now that's the kind of bath he likes - a mud bath. He jumps in, which makes him dirtier than ever, but he still won't take a bath. Soon he gets dirt on Pedro's painting, drips mud on Lili's dress up hat and all over the floor. It's only when he inadvertently gets wet that Lucas realises that being wet isn't so bad after all! In fact, it's fun!

    Daisy, an Afghan drops in for the day. And brings a special snack - curry biscuits The others don't mind it, but Lucas and Pedro think the snack smells funny. They laugh about it and call it stinky. Daisy overhears and her feelings are hurt. The others tell Lucas and Pedro it isn't very nice to make fun of someone because their food is different and Lucas and Pedro apologize. Everyone tries the new snack and likes them except Pedro, who's convinced he won't like them. But when he inadvertently tastes one, he finds he loves them. In fact, he's so wild for them he tries to convince Daisy to bring in more the next time she drops in for the day.

    Koda ties a blanket around his shoulder and starts acting like a super hero, zipping around at lightning speed (or so he thinks), flying off the climber (little jumps really) and saving everyone (although no one needs to be saved.) After a while Super Koda starts to be a bit disruptive. When he crashes into the new box of biscuits a very annoyed Pedro informs him that he is NOT super. Koda feels let down and glum. But then he rescues a little bird that has fallen from it's nest and everyone agrees that Koda has super hearing and super bravery! He really is super Koda.

    Lili 'borrows' Lucas's favourite toy, his super bouncy ball, and promises herself she'll put it back in his cubby before he arrives at daycare. While she's playing with it, however, the ball ends up lost. When Lucas finally arrives, Lili, wracked with guilt, is in a panic to try and find the ball and put it back before Lucas knows it's missing, while, at the same time, amusingly trying to distract Lucas every time she thinks he wants to play with his ball. Gradually, getting more and more tired-it's tough to keep pace with Lucas-she admits that she took his ball without asking.

    Pedro volunteers to be the daycare monitor and help everyone remember to put their toys away. He's good at it at first, but he's so determined to keep everything neat and tidy that he soon starts making silly rules. No taking out more than one toy at a time. No running, in case you bump into something and knock it over, not painting or puddle jumping etc. The dogs rebel - they were supposed to keep the place tidy but with all Pedro's rules they can't do anything! Pedro realises he's gone too far and they all decide to remember to tidy up after themselves.

    Vlad, a famous stunt dog is dropped off for the day. and he offers to teach the dogs a few tricks. When it's Suki's turn, Vlad is amazed to see her balance on a big ball. He says that Suki has natural talent and could be a great stunt dog. He invites her to go with him and star in his next movie. The others protest but then realise they are being selfish to insist she stay and that Suki should follow her heart. Suki is tempted, but when it's time to go, she has a change of heart and realises that she doesn't want to leave her friends for a life in the movies.

    Lucas is so impatient he finds it hard to wait his turn and or even count all the way to ten when playing hide and seek! Lili suggests they give Lucas 'patience lessons'. They set up a series of funny situations to train him, but nothing works. It's only when his impatience results in everyone missing a kite demonstration at the park that he begins to see the light and realises that it's important to be patient. Back at the day school, he sets up a kite flying game and waits patiently for his turn.

    Lili shows up one morning wearing a sparkly new rhinestone collar. Lili says she feels like a princess in it. Everyone has fun playing a pretend game - make believing that Lili really is a princess. But when they stop playing, Lili keeps acting like a princess - a very snooty princess who keeps making royal demands on her friends. That is, until the sparkly new collar gets lost and Lois the cat finds it. The whole gang bands together and, using their combined talents, retrieves the collar for Lili. A grateful Lili realizes that friends are more precious than diamonds.

    Lucas has had an ear infection and shows up wearing a plastic cone around his neck so that his head is encased inside and he can't scratch his ear. The cone is driving him quite mad as he really wants to scratch! He tries to get the others to help him take it off but they know he has to wear it to get better. They try to distract him with a series of funny games and activities to take him mind off it - and the distraction works. In fact, when they play a tight rope game the cone keeps him looking straight ahead which helps him keep his balance. He realises that maybe it isn't so bad after all!

    After Rosie finishes reading the others the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" Koda wants to put on a play of Goldilocks. They all start practicing their play, but Koda quickly becomes very bossy, and insists that he get all the good parts. He wants to be Goldilocks and the bears! After a while, no one wants to be in the play with him any more. Koda stubbornly persists at playing on his own but soon finds that it isn't any fun. He realises that he had been hogging all the fun. To entice the others into playing with him again he hides their snacks and leads the very excited and hungry 'four bears' on an intriguing reinvention of the 'Goldilocks' story, following clues and crumbs to find out what's happened to their missing snacks.

    Lili arrives at the day care with an oversize blanket draped over her. It turns out her groomer got carried away and gave her a virtual buzz cut. Lili is so embarrassed at how tiny and (to her mind) funny looking she is without her fluffy coat, that she refuses to take the blanket off. The others try to convince her that it doesn't matter what she looks like - they all look different in their own way - but she won't listen. After a number of attempts her friends finally convince her that they accept her no matter how she looks.

    Two poodles are dropped off at the daycare for the day. They look just like Lili except they're a different colour (both are yellow). Lili is thrilled to have them around and makes a big deal of how similar they are. But much to the dismay of the others, she soon only wants to play with the two drop-ins. The others understand, until Lili proclaims a poodle's only club and they begin to feel left out. But then two yellow poodles make their own clubhouse ( for yellow poodles only). Now Lili is upset - she quickly realizes it doesn't feel very good to be left out. She apologizes to her old friends and they invite her to join their game. It's a game EVERYONE can play. It's so much fun that soon even the two drop ins want to join them.

    The usually irrepressible Lucas is having a very bad day. He inadvertently breaks a water dish and then accidentally puts his paw in a pail of paint and leaves red paw prints all over the day care. Lucas slinks off into a corner. He wishes he weren't so clumsy. Then he hears Rosie welcome a new charge for the day, a domesticated potbelly pig. Rosie sings the pig's praises - so clean, so well mannered, such a pleasure to have around. Lucas decides that from then on, he'll act like a pig. He asks the pig to give him 'how to be a pig' lessons and Lucas becomes extremely dull. Everyone misses the old Lucas and the crew has to convince him that they love him the way he was, faults and all.

    Pedro has a special stuffed toy dog called Little Pedro that he's brought to day care - but he doesn't want anyone to know. He hasn't been sleeping well during nap time and he thinks sleeping with Little Pedro will help. But when it's nap-time - he discovers Little Pedro is missing! The others who notice he's having trouble sleeping, try to help him out. But nothing works. Then Suki lends him her little stuffed toy that she sleeps with. When he finds that Suki has a stuffed toy to help her sleep, he admits that he does too - but he can't find it. He feels much better when everyone else admits they have comfort things too (blanket, dish, soother even) - and then of course, they find Little Pedro.
